✦ Lesson 3

How can I find information on the internet?

When you do a school project, you can do research online or in the library. The internet makes finding information easier… but it also makes finding false information easier! We need information that is reliable: something we can trust and believe.

Three rules for reliable research

  1. 1
🏛️ Think about whose website it is

Look for websites of organisations (.org) or schools and universities (.edu), and of museums and zoos you know.

  2. 2
    🔁 Look at several websites

When you find some information, check that other reliable websites say the same.

  3. 3
💬 Be careful with blogs and chats

There, people write their own opinions. They don't have to write what is true.

👍 More reliable

A museum website · a .edu page · information you find on several websites.

⚠️ Less reliable

One blog · a chat · a website that is trying to sell you something.

✅ reliable = you can trust it.org · .edu · museums
