Exercise keeps us fit

✦ Lesson 2

Exercise keeps us fit

Exercise is another healthy habit. Moving your body makes several body systems stronger, and it is good for your mental health too: it helps you feel happy and calm.

🫁 Respiratory system

Your lungs get stronger and you can breathe in more oxygen.

❤️ Circulatory system

Your heart is a muscle: exercise makes it stronger, so it pumps blood better.

🦴 Locomotor system

Your bones and muscles, the system that lets you move. Exercise keeps them strong.

🙂 Mental health

Being active reduces stress and puts you in a good mood.

Make an exercise plan

Try to be active every day. It is more fun if you choose different activities: some on your own and some in a group. Here is an example plan:

Monday
Football 45 min
Tuesday
Swimming
Wednesday
Bike ride with Dad
Thursday
Dance class
Friday
Play in the park
Weekend
Family walk
🤺 New word

Fencing is a sport in which two people fight with special swords. Karate, dance, swimming, skating and basketball are other activities that keep you active. What do you do?

🏃 active every day🫁 ❤️ 🦴 stronger systems
