Well-being: a healthy body and mind
Being healthy is not only about your body. Keeping fit and getting better when you are ill is your physical well-being. How you feel inside is your emotional well-being. The two are connected!
When you are ill or in pain you can feel sad or grumpy (in a bad mood). Most illnesses go away soon, but a chronic illness lasts a long time and can make people feel low.
When we feel sad or worried for a long time, our body can suffer too, and it is easier to become ill. Feeling very sad for a long time is called depression.
Healthy body = healthy mind
Everybody has bad days. If you feel sad or worried for a long time, tell an adult you trust: a parent, a teacher or a doctor. Talking about feelings helps you feel better.
