How do humans reproduce?
All living things reproduce: they have babies or young. A human baby starts to grow when a male cell from a man joins with a female cell from a woman. These cells are made in the reproductive system.
- Testicles — make the male cells
- Penis — small tubes connect it to the testicles
- Urethra — a tube inside the penis; the male cells leave the body through it
- Ovaries — make and store the female cells
- Uterus — where the baby grows
- Vagina — connects the uterus to the outside of the body
- Vulva — the only external part
A human baby grows inside the uterus for about nine months. A baby elephant needs 22 months! Choose your favourite animal and find out how long its baby grows inside its mother.
Use them to join ideas. which for things: The ovaries are the organs which make female cells. where for places: The uterus is the place where the baby grows. whose for "his/her": A pregnant woman is a woman whose baby is growing inside her.
