How have vehicles changed since the wheel?
The first vehicles with wheels were carts and wagons, pushed by people or pulled by oxen, donkeys or horses. Their wheels were made of wood, with no tyres.
The Ford Model T
One of the first cars with an engine that burned petrol.
Wooden spokes and solid rubber tyres. The brakes were not on the wheels.
Metal body and a leather roof, with no doors or side windows. Top speed: about 65–70 km/h.
Cars of today and tomorrow

An engine and a battery. The battery charges while the car drives.
They use sensors and artificial intelligence to see the lanes and other cars, and to slow down or steer to avoid danger.
