Reduce, reuse, recycle

✦ Lesson 8

Reduce, reuse, recycle

Many materials, like metals and the oil used to make plastic, come from the ground and cannot grow again. We can look after them with the three Rs.

⬇️ Reduce

Use less. Take your own bag to the shop and buy fruit without plastic packaging.

🔁 Reuse

Use things again. Keep glass jars for pencils or leftovers, and use both sides of the paper.

♻️ Recycle

Put glass, paper and cans in the right bin, so they can be made into new things.

🔤 Science English: has happened because…

Use has/have + past participle to talk about a result, and because to explain it with science: The glass has broken because glass is fragile. The apple has fallen because of gravity. The shelf hasn't bent because wood is rigid.
